PAH, MD works to improve the quality of healthcare offered to deaf and hard of hearing individuals through education of consumers and healthcare providers. We also encourage deaf and hard of hearing individuals to pursue careers in healthcare delivery.

A Place of Their Own Project: to provide a fully accessible emergency shelter and transitional housing, in a physical, cultural, and linguistic sense, for Deaf and Deaf-Blind victims and their children. (Estimated date of completion - December 2003)

Within our center, we have the only skilled long term health program for the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing and Program for Aging Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in all of Texas.

Mental Health

Providing quality and innovative mental health and substance abuse services for individuals who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or have hearing loss and their families; and advancing the skills and knowledge of professionals and the community through its training programs and dissemination of written and video materials in the area of mental health and deafness/hearing loss.

Resources for specialized interpreting

Tampa Bay Academy is a psychiatric treatment center for children and adolescents. The academy offers residential, day treatment, partial hospitalization, and a complete Deaf program.

Alternative Solutions Center is a Deaf-owned and operated psychotherapy and consulting practice staffed by licensed professional therapists. We specialize in work with persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind.

The Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals is an inpatient chemical dependency program located at Fairview hospital in Minneapolis. The program has been providing services specializing in treatment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons nationally since 1989.

The Walter B. Jones ADATC is the only residential treatment center in North Carolina for deaf/hard of hearing substance abusers. The Center provides treatment to citizens from any of North Carolina's 100 counties.
